This year has been a year of new adventures. Saturday October 4, 2008 I was cast in a movie as and extra. It was a period piece set in the 1920 shot here in Oklahoma. It was a fun experience and have a new found appreciation for all the hard work that goes into the production of a movie.
Here are few photos and a little about the movie.
“Pearl” is the true story of Oklahoman Pearl Carter Scott, a Chickasaw native, who at the age of 12 was befriended by famed aviator Wiley Post. After giving her a ride in his plane, and at the encouragement of her father, Post set Pearl up with flying lessons. By 13 she was a commercial pilot and performed as a barnstormer in county fairs. She also flew businessmen, including her father, to meetings across Oklahoma in the late 1920s and early 1930s. She remains the youngest licensed pilot in America, and is one of only two people, besides Post, allowed to fly his prized plane, the Winnie Mae. The film is suitable for all audiences.
“Pearl” is directed by King Hollis, produced by David Rennke, Amy Briede and the companies Media 13 and Chickasaw Nation Enterprises.
